Popular Hausa political singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, has been honoured with an honorary doctorate degree by the European-American University, Commonwealth of Dominican Republic of Panama.

Rarara was conferred with the Doctor of Science Humanitarian Service, Music and Entertainment at the university’s 23rd convocation ceremony held at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja on Saturday.
Professor Idris Aliyu of the Governing Council of the institution, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the university, presented the certificate to Rarara.
In his welcome address, the Northern Nigeria representative of the institution, Dr Musari Audu Isyaku, said Dauda Kahutu Rarara, Alhaji Ahmed Saleh jnr., Prof. Mustapha Abdullahi Bujawa and Prof. Tarela Boroh were awarded with the honorary doctorate degrees because of their outstanding performance and contribution to the development of humanity.
He said, “This honorary doctorate degree and professor awards is a testament of their unwavering commitment to excellence and community development.”
In his remarks, Dauda Kahutu Rarara said he was excited that his talent and humanitarian services were being recognized by the institution.
He urged youths to be patient and dedicated, saying there is wisdom in being purposive.
He said that the award would encourage him to executive more humanitarian services in Katsina state and other parts of Nigeria.
Also speaking, governor of Katsina state, Dr Umaru Dikko Radda, said that Dauda Kahutu Rarara is a phenomenon and unifier.
Radda said the singer has delivered several humanitarian projects within Katsina and some parts of Nigeria.
According to him, Rarara is not only using his talent to entertain, but also unify Nigerians, saying the singer stands as a symbol of tenacity and dedication.
Present at the event were governor of Katsina state, Dr Umaru Dadda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Minister of transportation, Senator Sa’idu Ahmad Alkali, the member representing Bichi Federal constituency, and the chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, Nasiru Sani Danlami, member representing Katsina Central, House of Representatives. Abdulmumini Zannah Bungudu, the member representing Maru/Bungudu federal constituency.
Who is Rarara?
Rarara was born on September 13, 1986, in Katsina State, Nigeria. He became famous for his songs supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) during Nigeria’s 2015 elections. His music helped the APC’s campaign.
As a singer, songwriter, and performer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara is known as one of Northern Nigeria’s top APC political singers.
He recently released a praise song titled Omo ologo (a child of glory) for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which has become an anthem for the president’s supporters across the country.
Apart from music, Dauda Kahutu Rarara has been in the news for his political engagements. In September 2020, he asked for financial support from Muhammadu Buhari’s supporters to release a video praising the president. Remarkably, he received 57 million naira within 48 hours, demonstrating his influence and loyal fanbase.
Despite controversies, including allegations of misusing funds, Rarara continues to be a significant figure in Nigerian politics and music.
