We achieved 75% ICPC, SERVICOM 50% ratings – KadPoly, Polytechnic Advancement – Director

The Director of Kaduna Polytechnic (KadPoly) Advancement, Dr. Muhammad Attahiru Abdullahi, has highlighted the achievements recorded under his leadership. The chief lecturer in the Department of Applied Physics, noted that the world and education are dynamic, with challenges and innovations requiring institutions to provide ideas for improvement.

“Many universities and institutions have established directorates of advancement, and Kaduna Polytechnic is one of the earliest to form this directorate,” the Director said.

Dr. Abdullahi added that the primary functions of the Kaduna Polytechnic Advancement include establishing a strategic plan for the institution, ensuring a viable and functional SERVICOM, quality assurance system, and providing linkages with other institutions. The directorate is also responsible for monitoring the activities of the Kaduna Polytechnic alumni, serving as a link between the management and the alumni.

On the upcoming Kaduna Polytechnic tech-fair, Dr. Abdullahi said the institution aims to showcase its technical and vocational strengths to the world and the Nigerian public.

“We are blowing our trumpet for people to know our richness and greatness,” he elaborated. This event is the first of its kind and will unveil the institution’s status, he added.

As part of his achievements in office, Dr. Abdullahi said Kaduna Polytechnic has a linkage with the Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute, China, on capacity building and staff training. Four staff members of Kaduna Polytechnic underwent intensive training organized by Tetfund on quality assurance. The directorate has also established linkages and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with other world institutions.

Dr. Abdullahi appreciated the management of the institution and applauded the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Umar, on the successes recorded as the Chairman of the Operational and Strategic Plan Committees. He praised the Rector for being a prudent gentleman who wants to do everything in the right way. The director also highlighted some notable achievements, including the development of a strategic plan for up to 2027 and an operational plan for 2023 and 2024.

“The institution has received positive ratings from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) scoring 75% and SERVICOM 50%, respectively. Dr. Abdullahi attributed these ratings to the institution’s performance, strategic plan, quality assurance, and operational plan. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made and looked forward to continued success.
