In an interview in his office, Dr. Musa said though the Rector, Dr. Suleiman Umar came into the leadership of Kaduna Polytechnic during economic trial times, he continued to pay the Excess Work Allowance to comfort the staff of the institution.

“As a person, I appreciate the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic for what he is doing in his own capacity for putting in efforts in human and infrastructural development around the school,” Dr. Musa said.

Dr. Musa cited the example of achievable development of the take-up of the School of Health in the Tudun Wada Campus, the handing over of the Mass Communication Complex, and renovation of many buildings around the campuses.

However, the Head of the Department said the release of TETFUND Conference and TETFUND development projects have signified the Rector’s commitment to the welfare of the academic and non-academic staff of the institution.

“I must commend the efforts of the management of Kaduna Polytechnic in the conversion of this institution to a full-fledged university. This will give us more leverage and opportunities, looking at the number of our PhD lecturers. Chief lecturers will be converted to readers, which will be a good development for the people of Kaduna Polytechnic and the people of Kaduna State and Nigerians. This is a realistic and good omen to all lovers of education and to all the staff of Kaduna Polytechnic,” Dr. Ogwu said.

Dr. Musa applauded the management of Kaduna Polytechnic for making history in the payment of promotion entitlements, saying that promotion arrears is now a bygone issue.

“Promotion arrears is now a thing of the past because of early promotion. The delay has been cancelled through the efforts of this management. It is not like before, which it takes a year before enjoying it,” Dr. Ogwu expressed.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Department advised all the meaningful staff of Kaduna Polytechnic to reciprocate the gesture of the management of Kaduna Polytechnic in promoting the standard of the institution.
