BREAKING – Unijos orders total withdrawal of services due to delay in June salary

The Academic staff Union of Universities UNIJOS has ordered the total withdrawal of academic activities in the institution following what they termed the delay in payment of their June 2025 salary.

This was contained in a statement signed byProf. Jurbe Joseph Molwus the , Chairperson of the union and made available to reporters in Jos .

The statement reads that ” This is to request all members to abstain from lectures and statutory meetings if our salary for the month of June 2025 is not paid by 11:59pm today, 3rd July 2025.

This is in line with extant NEC resolution that “branches should take action when salary is not paid by the 3rd day of a new month” and our congress resolution of 4th June 2025 affirming this position.

The action takes effect from 12:01am on Friday, 4th July 2025.

Please ensure full compliance until you are communicated to resume work.

The strike monitoring team of the branch will be activated to monitor compliance, the statement added.
