The Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Sulaiman Umar, has commended the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, for accepting responsibility for the technical glitch that affected the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and offering affected candidates another chance to sit for the examination at the Lagos and Owerri centres.
In a recent development, JAMB announced that candidates who missed the rescheduled UTME due to genuine reasons would be given another opportunity to take the examination. Affected candidates have been directed to raise a ticket on the JAMB portal, stating the reasons for missing the examination and indicating their preferred location for the make-up test.
The decision follows a review of results that revealed a technical glitch had affected results from 157 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in several states. JAMB has attributed the glitch to a failed software update and has taken full responsibility for the error.
The Rector of the Kaduna Polytechnic said the JAMB registrar has exhibited his true virtue of accountability fairness and transparency in discharging his responsibility of service saying that by “offering the affected candidates another chance, the JAMB Registrar has demonstrated a commitment to ensuring that candidates are given a fair opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
