The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Kaduna State University, KASU branch has resumed an indefinite strike, citing the government’s failure to honour previous agreements.

The strike, which took effect today, Thursday, April 24, 2025, was approved by the union’s National Executive Council following a request by the local congress.
Chairman of ASUU-KASU, Peter Adamu, and Secretary, Peter Waziri, made this known in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, listed unresolved issues that prompted the industrial action.
These include unpaid salaries from May to September 2022, a backlog of Earned Academic Allowances since 2016, promotion arrears, and unpaid allowances for supervision of the Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme among others.
The union insisted that the strike would remain indefinite until its demands were met.
