Renewed Hope Agenda on education: FG releases 50 billion to ASUU

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to revitalizing Nigeria’s education sector. In a statement issued in Abuja, the Minister praised the President’s decisive intervention in resolving long-standing issues affecting the nation’s tertiary institutions.

According to Dr. Alausa, the recent release of ₦50 billion. An allowances for Academic staff demonstrates President Tinubu’s dedication to achieving a stable, strike-free learning environment in Nigerian universities. The funds, released under the Renewed Hope Agenda, address long-overdue claims and signal a firm resolve to uplift the quality of education across the country.

“The release of these funds is a significant step toward restoring confidence and productivity in our tertiary institutions,” the Minister said. “President Tinubu has proven that he is not only listening to the demands of the education sector but is also acting decisively to meet them.”

Dr. Alausa further appreciated the academic and non-academic staff of federal institutions for their unwavering commitment and resilience, assuring them that the days of prolonged industrial actions are now behind the nation. He emphasized that this effort would be extended to other sectors involving Federal Government employees to ensure equity and progress.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s belief in youth empowerment through education, stating, “The youth are the heart of this country, so we will continue to give them quality education and technical skills to help them thrive.”

The Honourable Minister concluded by reiterating the Ministry’s commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the effective utilization of these funds, in line with the President’s vision of a brighter future for Nigerian education.
