As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and contribute to community development, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has renovated a classroom and donated essential educational materials to pupils of Kurhundu Primary School in Katsina State.
The gesture was initiated by the Air Component Commander of Operation FANSAN YANMA, Air Commodore Ibrahim Garba Jibia, in line with directives from the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to enhance the Air Force’s engagement with local communities beyond military operations.
During multiple visits to the school, NAF personnel conducted thorough assessments of the learning environment and interacted closely with teachers, sharing effective teaching techniques and supporting classroom activities. The donation included vital learning materials aimed at improving the quality of education for pupils at the school.
Recognizing the school’s infrastructural challenges, the NAF went further to renovate one of the classrooms, creating a more conducive learning space for the children. The intervention drew support from the Katsina State Government, which responded by renovating another classroom and initiating the construction of a new one, currently underway.
In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, noted that the initiative reflects the Air Force’s broader commitment to fostering goodwill, building trust, and supporting grassroots development in communities within its operational zones.
The project highlights the Nigerian Air Force’s evolving role in national development, showcasing its dedication not only to securing the country’s airspace but also to improving the lives of citizens through educational and infrastructural support.
