KASU gets first female student Senate President

In what many will think impossible, Summayah Muhammad Sani was recently inaugurated as the first female Senate President of the Students Representative Council of Kaduna State University (KASU).

This milestone achievement marks a significant moment in the university’s history, as Sen. Sani becomes the first woman to hold this prestigious position.

This medical student from the College of Medicine, Kaduna State University (KASU), Sen. Sani, has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a passion for empowering her fellow students.

Her impressive resume according to fellow students is a testament to her hard work and determination, with notable achievements including being the pioneer president of the Nasarawa State Students Association, KASU Chapter , the first female president in the history of Kaduna State University, and the first female Clerk of the Student Representative Council.

Sani’s leadership experience speaks volumes and also extends to her role as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the University’s magazine, Pioneer Vice President of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State University Chapter, and ambassador of the debate community and Association of students living with disabilities, Kaduna State University Chapter.

These accomplishments explains her ability to inspire and motivate others, and her dedication to creating a positive impact on her community.

As the Senate President of the third Assembly, Sen. Sani is poised to bringing greater impact on the university community.

With her inauguration on February 12, 2025, she said a new era in student leadership, is sure to inspire and empower others to follow in her footsteps.

Sen. Sani’s achievement is a statement of fact to the power of women’s leadership and the importance of creating opportunities for women to take on leadership roles, there by promoting Gender Equality.
