The Kaduna Polytechnic (Kadpoly), Kaduna, matriculated students for the 2023/2024 evening and 2024/2025 regular academic programs at the Convocation Square, Main Campus, Tudun Wanda Campus on the 12th March, 2025.
In his speech, the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Suleiman Umar PhD, who was represented by the Deputy Rector, Academic, Dr. Grace Jamila Bila expressed pleasure while welcoming the admitted students to the prestigious institution, saying the matriculation program is a significant day for the students. She also congratulated the students who were admitted into the institution.
“We are one of the largest and most reputable Polytechnics in Nigeria, known for producing graduates who are industry-ready and equipped with practical knowledge to meet the challenges of the 21st century,” the Rector said.
Dr. Suleiman Umar said the institution received an overwhelming number of 20,114 applications, but due to space and resource constraints, the institution only admitted 14,699 students, which included foreign applicants.
“This means that you have been chosen among the privileged ones, and we expect nothing less than excellence from you. I, therefore, urge you to make the best use of this opportunity,” the Rector charged the students.
The Rector, meanwhile, warned the students to shun all acts of social vices, including cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice, and violence, that could hinder the progress of their academic journey.
The Rector, meanwhile, commended the efforts of Kaduna Polytechnic staff for their commitment to taking the institution to greater heights.
Saying that the students should utilize the opportunity of being the students of Kaduna Polytechnic and learn from the competent academic staff of the institution, using all available means to learn and develop themselves.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Malam Faruk Ndamadu Musa, charged the matriculated students to abide by the rules of the school for excellence.
The Dean, Students Affairs charged the students to comply with the ethical rules of the institution, such as not using cooking gas in the hostel, joining secret societies or cults, unlawful demonstrations, examination malpractice, theft and robbery, assault and rape, misconduct, signing off outside the institution, intimidation of the staff of the institution, and the sale of prohibited items and substances around the institution, which he said are tantamount to expulsion.
The ACTU Chairman, Dr. Fatima Kida, charged the matriculated students to desist from corrupt practices and to report any corrupt behavior.
The Chief Imam and the Chaplain of Kaduna Polytechnic charged all the students to abide by the rules of the institution for excellence and to avoid all acts capable of disrupting the peace of the institution.
