In a way to sustain a cordial relationship and add value to Kaduna Polytechnic programs the Department of Legal Studies paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman Governing Council of Kaduna Polytechnic,
Dr. Oluwakemi Pinheiro OFR, SAN, LLD, FCIArb, FloD on ways to improve the Departmental activities.

The Head of the Department of Legal Studies, Mrs Rosecana Ankama, FCArb, led the staff of the Department to meet with the Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution on January 31, 2025, to discuss ways to seek assistance in improving the department’s progress.
In her remarks, the Head of the Legal Department informed Dr. Pinheiro about the progress and historical achievements of the Department of Legal Studies.
“The Department of Legal Studies is endowed with lecturers of various specializations, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria, holders of Doctor of Laws (LL.D) degrees, and Fellows of different professional bodies.
“The Department has been training and preparing students for university programs and other allied ADR fields,” Mrs. Rosecana explained.
The Head of the Department affirmed that Kaduna Polytechnic is the only polytechnic in Sub-Saharan Africa that has produced Senior Advocates of Nigeria. Meanwhile, the Department solicited support to run additional programs and upgrade the KPT Diploma in Law to a National Diploma in common and Sharia laws, respectively.
In his response, Dr. Oluwakemi Pinheiro, OFR, congratulated the Department of Legal Studies for adding value to Kaduna State. He was particularly impressed to learn that the current Attorney General of Kaduna State is a staff member of Kaduna Polytechnic.
The Governing Council Chairman also encouraged the Department to expand its programs to other areas of law, such as mastery in the law of competition and other new fields of study.
