The Honourable Minister of State for Health, Iziaq Adekunle Salako, was in Kaduna Polytechnic today to oversee the the College of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine in the Institution.
In his speech, the Honourable Minister expressed happiness and satisfaction with the progress of the project and the support given by Kaduna Polytechnic.
The Minister charged the stakeholders of the program to continue putting forth their own efforts in line with the mandate of the present government in enhancing healthcare delivery in the country.
“We have a mandate to ensure that before the end of this year, we get our first set of students,” the Honourable Minister demanded.
The Minister solicited teamwork from the stakeholders to achieve the desired objectives and urged the staff to redouble their efforts in meeting the government’s targets.
Meanwhile, the Honourable Minister thanked the Rector and the management for their commitment to the success of the project.
In his response and appreciation, the Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Sulaiman Umar (PhD), expressed gratitude to the Kaduna Polytechnic community for the visit and the approval of the new College of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.
“Kaduna Polytechnic has enjoyed a long-standing partnership with the Ministry of Health. The training of nurse tutors and primary health care tutors. This collaboration has led to the successful award of diplomas in Nursing education. Equipping students with essential skills needed to train the future Health Care profession.”
The Rector also said that the healthcare programs in Kaduna Polytechnic have been contributing to building health care educators who play a vital role in the development of Nigeria.
“I wish to express our appreciation to the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare for the establishment of the Federal College of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine within the premises of Kaduna Polytechnic.
“The confidence imposed in our institution to host this important initiative is commendable.”
“We are committed to ensuring a seamless transition and full compliance with the directive to transfer all designated assets,” Dr. Sulaiman expressed.
Meanwhile, the Rector reiterated that the Institution is ready to to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Ministry of Health on the new program, and that of the Primary Health Care already hosted by the Institution.
On his part, Dr. Aderemi Aziz the Sole Administrator of the College of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine, Kaduna Polytechnic, thanked Kaduna Polytechnic for its long collaboration since 1977 for the progress of its program.
Meanwhile, the Sole Administrator commended the Institution for the vital roles it has played in championing the course of health-related programs.
