Recalled that the Chairman Governing Council of Kaduna Polytechnic in a letter dated September 9th, 2024 addressed to the Rector of the Institution directed the management of the Institution to utilize his allowances to settle the school fees of indigent students across the Polytechnic and forward evidence of record to his office.

The Chairman Governing Council of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Oluwakemi Pinheiro, SAN, OFR in the letter wrote, “This correspondence serves to confirm to you that allowances for sitting allowances due to me as a Chairman of the 8th Governing Council during my tenure should be utilized for the payment of admission fees or support for the academic fee of any indigent students in my name, and evidence of the payment should be forwarded to me for my records.”
The Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic, Dr. Suleiman Umar expressed delight during the time the Chairman Governing Council of Kaduna announced the donation of the allowances to the indigent students of the polytechnic.
Dr. Suleiman Umar in appreciations of the gesture said the act of Dr. Pinheiro is toward a dedication of uplifting less privileged students and emphasizing that the generous gesture is expected to provide much-needed financial relief to many deserving students and contribute to their academic success.
In an interview responding to the generosity of the Governing Council Chairman to the students Kaduna Polytechnic, the President of Students Union Government (SUG), Kaduna Polytechnic (Kadpoly) Comrade, Usman Ashir (Shadow) has described the Chairman as a Godsend for donating his wholesome sitting allowances to pay school fees of indigent and vulnerable students of the Institution.
However, the President of Kaduna Polytechnic students’ union said such a gesture has never happened in the history of Kaduna Polytechnic, and he was overjoyed on such generosity.
“ I pray for God to bless his wealth, increase his opportunities, give him more health and make him live longer to see many years in prosperity. As a Union of students’ government this will be a record for others to see and emulate.
“The gesture of the Chairman Governing Council of the Institution will augment our project of paying school fees to indigent students of the Institution. We have a project of paying school fees to financial handicap students, and we had paid partly and whole school fees to fifty (50) students of the Institution will his year and this gesture will surely make help more students” the SUG President expressed.
