Bayero University Kano (BUK) has suspended all lectures indefinitely due to the ongoing nationwide protest. This decision was announced in a statement signed by the Head of the Directorate of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, on Monday.

The university management commended the community for maintaining peace on campus and noted that suspending academic activities was necessary for the safety of students and staff.

“The decision was made by the university management after a careful assessment of the security situation,” the statement read.

The management assured students residing on campus of their safety and urged them to remain calm and law-abiding. However, students were advised to exercise caution when moving outside the campus premises.

Education Vanguard reports that the university promised to resume normal academic and administrative activities as soon as the situation stabilizes.
