The Interim National President of Federal Polytechnics Academic Staff Union (FEFASU), Dr. Shadrack Audu has called on the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) to abide by the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the removal of tertiary institutions from the IPPIS payroll.

Dr. Shadrack made the call on Sunday, during a Press Conference with media men regarding the issues of the new Scheme of Service and the called for the removal of the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Professor Idris M. Bugaje made by ASUP.
The Interim President of FEFASU berated ASUP on the sack of the NBTE, Executive Secretary and called on the leadership of ASUP to apologize to Professor Idris M. Bugaje for seeking his removal on issues he has no fault.
Meanwhile, FEFASU solicited for the support of NBTE and the Ministry of Education to shun the request of ASUP for federal polytechnics to remain on IPPIS because of the 2% dues being paid by the federal polytechnics’ staff that are on IPPIS.
Dr. Shadrack said only federal polytechnics suffer the inconvenience of IPPIS because of the 2% dues that ASUP relies on from federal polytechnics’ staff.
However, the Federal Polytechnics’ staff Union called on all federal polytechnics’ staff to continue the IPPIS validation exercise as directed by the Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madei to avoid any hitch that may occur after the dateline of the online IPPIS validation exercise.
Meanwhile, the Union advised staff to register as Non Member during the online IPPIS validation until when FEFASU gets it registration certificate and members should only pay 1% due.
